Riots are uncommon and common. The is certainly enough of them for the authorities to be scared – around the world what is allowed in protests is being restricted.
Meanwhile movements like Extinction Rebellion make gallahs of themselves and not much else. Grandstanding.
What if the two could combine to have riot and destruction in the name of saving the planet. That doesn’t suit the nice protestors, and is too directed for the rioters. But of course it is possible.
Imagine a skilled operator who could somehow redirect an incidental riot (an immigrant was killed by police, tax on rice is going up) into a targeted one (smash bank shopfronts, loot phone stores).
Specifically anti-capitalist riots… I don’t believe has be done. Once a precedent has been set, it could be unstoppable.
